Multimedia keys supported?

I do not know if they are supported.
Does any plugin exist?
I couldn't find anything in the faq or in the options.
I found them very comfy and easy.
Thanks

RafkeP 20th June 2005 08:25 AM

Well did you try them?
There is a post about problems with a multimedia keyboard (or rather software) over here :
http://forum.bsplayer.org/viewtopic.php?t=6661

The topic also contains some info on how to set your multimedia keys.

Hope this is of help to you.

Sure and they do not work.
I'll have a look at the topic you linked.

I tried pressing my multimedia keys but they do not portray any effect on BS.
I have a MS Natural Keyboard Pro, and could possibly obtain the codes from Winamp...
Maybe just cutting and pasting those codes can work?
Will try.

Update: can't find any code in winamp.ini

So how can i use my multimedia keys?
If it is at all possible.

RafkeP 21st June 2005 08:10 PM

I'm not familiar with your type of keyboard.

Is there any software that comes with it ?
If so disable the software first
If not: did you try the Girder approach from the previous link?

Hi, friend! Firstly, excuse any error, english isn't my usual language.
Well, I also use Itouch, and found a PLAYERS.INI file on its directory; I don't have the knowledge to do so, but I think that is possible to add a line with parameters to control BSplayer too...
It inclusive contains the syntax that should be used! If you can get anything, please post the "how-to-do" in this topic!

Best regards

Marcus Vinícius

Hi Marcus,

Like I said before i don't have any experience with those keyboards, but looking at the ini-file it tells me the following ...

I only had a look at winamp and I GUESS (not sure) that it means :

Quote:

WinAmp3=key,studio.exe,STUDIO,xxx,xxx,X,C,V,Z,B,0, 1,WinAmp 3
Winamp3 -> I think it's just a name for your application
key -> the Itouch keys simulate KEYboard shortcuts
studio.exe -> the actual application (not sure I don't have winamp 3)
STUDIO -> (no clue whatsoever, maybe the Class name)
xxx,xxx -> I guess these parameters are not used when you specified "key"before.
X -> play
C -> pause
v -> stop
z -> previous
b -> next
0,1 -> not sure, always used I guess
Winamp -> name of the application.

Now with all these assumptions you could try the following for BSplayer:

Quote:

BSplayer=key,bsplayer.exe,TApplicationTApplication ,xxx,xxx,X,C,V,Y,B,0,1,BSplayer
I'm not sure if it's going to work, but it's worth to give it a shot.
Let us know how it went and I will look into some more if needed.

Good luck,
Rafke P.

Hi, Rafke! Firstly, I'd like to thank you for your kind attention; reading your post, I finnaly understood - or, at less I think so... - the syntax of the file.

I tryied to paste the line that you wrote, but it didn't worked. Then I worked over your explanation without any results. After this, I looked for these arguments at internet and and at last I found a topic about this in a French forum.

The correct syntax is:

Quote:

BSPlayer=key,bsplayer.exe,BSPlayer,BSPlayer v1.02,xxx,X,C,V,Z,B,0,1,BSPlayer
Adding this line to the PLAYERS.INI file of ITouch Logitech software allow the use of the keyboard media keys to control BSPlayer.

I thank you again yours concern and support, and hope that this may be useful to others users.

Regards from Brasil,

Marcus Vinícius

i see this works with iTouch but i am using SetPoint 2.47, does this make any difference? I looked the player.ini up. I opened it and i found this:

#List of supported players
#{btn|key|msg|emg|cmd|wac},exeName,wndClass,wndCap tion,xxx,play_delayplay,pause,stop,prev,next,remov e_flags,ShowOSD,menu_item
[Players]
MSMedia=key,xxx,MPlayer,xxx,xxx,0x10,0x10,0x13,0,0 ,0,1,Windows Media Player

[Players.Run]
MediaCenter=path,$WINDOWS\eHome

[Players.Display]
MediaCenter=Windows Media Center

#{btn|key|msg|emg|cmd|wac},start,end,repeat start,,Donot send Play appcommand at end of FastForward operation
[Players.Seek]
MusicMatch7=cmd,22861,xxx,1

#{btn|key|msg|emg|cmd|wac},start,end,repeat start,Donot send Play appcommand at end of rewind operation
[Players.Rewind]
MusicMatch7=cmd,22860,xxx,1,0

#list of Burn UI players (available on Burn button)
[Players.BurnSupported]
MSMedia9=True

#list of Record UI players (available on Record button)
[Players.RecordSupported]
MSMedia9=True

#list of 10" UI players (available on remote button)
[Players.IsRemote]
MDesktop=Trues

the list above was much larger but i just removed all the other players (not in the real ini of course :D)

i already tried to add
BSPlayer=key,bsplayer.exe,BSPlayer,BSPlayer v1.02,xxx,X,C,V,Z,B,0,1,BSPlayer

but that didn't work out (i am using 1.36) would that make any difference?

RafkeP 6th February 2006 01:26 PM

From what you have posted I would expect it to work.
Since it does not, could you make the complete ini available somewhere ?

preky 22nd February 2006 12:48 PM

I have logitech G-15 and keys are working on the first press... afterwards focus is transffered from movie window somewhere else and if i don't click on movie window againg they don't work :( Funny thing is that play/pause key is working always :).

Similar thing happens with movie split in two files. After the first is ended focus is transffered to tray app, can't remember the name of it, and taskbar is shown although movie on monitor is displayed in full screen mode.

Scaevola 27th March 2006 06:28 PM

I found the perfect solution to have all the keys work perfectly with any Logitech multimedia product.

This will work only if you have the key configurations as follows:

C: Pause
Z: Prev
B: Next
V: Stop
W: Seek forward
Q: Seek backward

First, open up "players.ini"

Under [Players] add the following line:

Code:

BSPlayer=key,bsplayer.exe,BSPlayer,BSPlayer,xxx,C,C,V,Z,B,0,1,BSPlayer
Under [Players.Run] add the following line:

Code:

BSPlayer=path,C:\Program Files\BSplayerPro
(your path may be different depending on your BSPlayer version)

From key configurations in BSPlayer, assign "W" key for seek foward and
Under [Players.Seek] add the following line:

Code:

BSPlayer=key,W,,1,1
From key configurations in BSPlayer, assign "Q" key for seek backward and
Under [Players.Rewind] add the following line:

Code:

BSPlayer=key,Q,,1,1

With respect to Multimedia keyboards perhaps also check out item (d) under "MISCELLANEOUS" of my Help2Help-post, titled:
(d) Girder / WinLIRC / Remote controls / (Multimedia) Keyboard ?
(especially the link it contains to darkain's post)
:wink:

For SetPoint 2.6 (older versions may work too)
