Default Critical Error

Why when i try to open a divx format file, the player crashes?
Here's the detail:
AppName: bsplayer.exe AppVer: 1.3.7.826 ModName: divxdec.ax
ModVer: 5.1.1.1031 Offset: 00045c64

Maybe it's better that you update your DivX codec to the 5.21 version.. Otherwise you can try to reregister the divxdec.ax filter.

First unregister it:

regsvr32.exe /u C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\divxdec.ax
Then re-register it:
Code:
regsvr32.exe C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\divxdec.ax
Remember to change the C:\WINDOWS...... path to point to your file

Other filters like Bilinear Resize might cause DirectShow applications to crash as well. Have you installed any codec packs?

If Tizio's solution didn't help, try removing all codecs and install only the ones you need. If you use many different formats consider installing FFDSHOW.
