I need some help playing HD on my computer. Been trying to goof around with the settings I'm familiar with (may not be that many though) and don't seem to find a solution.
My CPU is an AMD Ahtlon 3200+ (2.21GHz) and the graphic card is a Radeon 9800 pro. The problems I have is that the CPU avarages around 90% on usage, and spikes up to 100%, with obvious results.
The file(s) I'm trying to play are
Code:
English, 1280x720 (16/9), at 23.976 fps, MPEG-4 AVC
I'm using ffdshow version unknown (from 8th November 2006). I've tried a bunch of different players including MPC, VLC and BSplayer 2.11 build 940. MPC has the worst results by far, VLC and BSPlayer seems about equal.
I've tried changing the renderer mode to whats suggested in this thread with little to no success. I am, to the best of my knowledge, not using any post-processing.
Are these files really so heavy that my 2.21GHz can't handle them, or am I doing something wrong? What more settings should I play around with? Any other codecs I should be trying?
EDIT: Solved it with Core AVC. :) Avaraging 70% CPU now.
