Some MPEG-2 demultiplexers and/or video decoders refuse to accept some (malformed) streams. There might be a corrupted part after the first 30 seconds. That's a guess.
Or perhaps the bitrate field of your VOB was set to a wrong (too high) value, so that your current demuxer thinks the file is only 30 s long. In this case BSPlayer + Elecard v2.0 plays past the end of file and reports no errors.
