After preference setings vista change effect

I haved 2.28 version on vista and that version worked fine! After instaling 2.36 and setting preference on bs player,my system change effects:
file types, windows change positions, madness! After system restore and back on version 2.28 that happened again and again! How to make setings without problems in windows!
Please help tnx
