but more codecs (like Ace Pro, DivX, XVid, etc.) are legal and free for download (and use). Many of players (and other) are including the free codecs and they haven't any probrems from the law.
Additionally - not all userrs have enought time to search the lot of pages for valid codecs, and without them many audio and video woudn't run (play).
