I just read in changelog-details of today's Beta-version 2.34.979 (200812121843) i.a.:
Code:
Version 2.34.978
          - fixed aspect ratio problem with EVR renderer
          - fixed custom subtitle position with EVR renderer
          - .......
so I suppose this problem may be solved when version 2.34 is released.
