Did you already try a different "Rendering-mode"?
(rightclick >) Options > Preferences > Video > [Video rendering]
What is presently selected?
Internal renderer overlay (default)/Internal renderer DirectDraw surface/Overlay mixer/ ....?
(Installed a new graphics driver recently?)
