Further differences probably concern repair of several bugs I could imagine.

The creator of BSPlayer, bst, is presently engaged in a total rewrite of BSPlayer and he has earlier announced that a version 1.0 is very close now, without indicating a precise date.
So I think - to be realistic - we should not expect too many new features in version 0.86 any more.
