Default [SOLVED] .avi stopping

I am using Ver2.31 and am having problems playing some .avi files. The file starts palying but after a few seconds BS Player just shuts down. Does anyone have any idea where the problem could be?

Thanks

Is there a common denominator for those files (e.g. codec used?).
Under (rightclick >) Options > Media info, you may find codec used when encoding the avi.
Under (rightclick >) Options > Filters > Advanced, you can (with moviefile loaded!) see which filter/codec is used by BS.Player for decoding at playback.

Another question: you didn't previously use a pirated Pro version either?

Hi BSPeter
No the free version is the only BS Player to be on the computer. Following your comment I purchased the Pro version yesterday to see if it would solve the problem. The added features are nice but the problem remained. I re-encoded the .avi's to .avi's using another converter and the problem is solved. Koyote seems to have a glitch that does not encode .avi's properly, other video formats seem to be encoded OK.
By the way, BS Player is a breath-takingly good player - well done.

I agree, but draw your attention to the fact that I have nothing to do with the creation of BS.Player.
I'm just a user like you!

(Well maybe I've been around on the BS.Player scene a bit longer  )
