Question Subtitles font/display/double with MKV files

Hello, I have a simple problem that bugs me, with MKV files.
When the subtitles are included on the file, means, we can show/hide them, all the font/color/position, etc just disappears as it was simple SRT files.
The style isn't really the problem, the problem is when there's 2 subtitles, for example when there's a song and when the words of the songs are transcribed while someone is talking, or when there's a "note", etc ... these are always prioritary, and it doesn't show the real dialogues. It's very annoying. While with Windows Media Player, it plays perfectly ....

I checked all the options and didn't found a way to change this, so is there a way to get the style from embedded subtitles in MKV files??

Thanks.

(sorry if it has already been asked, but I did not found an answer yet)

The subtitles you speak about are ssa/ass subtitles. To play them correctly (or close enough), go to subtitles options and enable the new subtitle renderer and restart BSPlayer.

Hello, thanks for the tip. However I can't find this option. Is this a new feature from the latest BSPlayer (or maybe a feature in the "pro" version)?
I have version 2.34

New subtitle parser/renderer was introduced with version 2.42.1006.
So you indeed should first download/install most recent version 2.43.1008.

Haa ... ok!
Thanks!

By the way, I always hesitate to update it because each time it creates problems with my computer, modifying options randomly on several softwares. very weird!!

I always simply install a newer version "over" the older one and have never had any such experience. What do you usually do? First uninstall the older version and then install the newer version or ...?

No, I do as you do, I install it over the old one ....
I had this problem several times, so I'm wondering why it does that ...
