New BS.Player Translations subforum

Here you can open separate threads for each language, should be easier for users to find language and correct version they are looking for.

Main translations thread got really cluttered over the time.

Not sure in which topic to ask: Why in bsplayer.com user area says:
Please upload UTF-8 ENCODED language files ONLY.
But BS.Player doesn't show correctly UTF8 encoded language files, at least for me!

And you're not alone: http://forum.bsplayer.com/bug-report...html#post43465

The problem is, most likely, that translation file itself in incorrectly encoded. Please try to encode it in utf8 with ultra edit or some other program.

KSB4ever 22nd December 2010 08:14 PM

The file itself was correctly encoded UTF8. What experiments show - BS.Player doesn't detect encoding without Byte order mark. Ok, problem solved! :)

Ico-man 23rd December 2010 12:04 PM

Can you send us the utf-8 file, which wasn't displayed in BSPlayer properly, before the correction, please.

OK, here are (as not possible to attach files in PM) what You asked.
One file with BOM (shown properly) and other one without BOM (shown improperly). You may notice that file without BOM is 3Bytes smaller. Actually in UFT8 BOM doesn't play any significant role as BOM only serves to identify UTF-8 (in difference from UTF-16 big or small endian order).

BOM should be included for utf-8 files, how could we detect that is is utf-8 without it?

Pan&Scan
Playback rate

I think these words were already in the 2004 / 2005 Arabic language file.
Didn't you use those as a starting point?

Alaa M 14th January 2011 03:59 AM

I would say in "lang"-sub-folder of BS.Player's installation folder.
I've attached them for you.

It is possible to detect UTF8 without BOM. Even windows notepad does detect ;) I'm don't want to go in details by now, but there are some algorithms to make it working!

KSB4ever 16th May 2017 08:51 PM

Is there any interest in translations update, as I noticed 2.71 came out recently?

Ico-man 18th May 2017 08:25 AM

No new strings were added, so ...
