Default Hardware decoding cannot be used?

Hello all,
I like BSPlayer but it doesn't seem to like my tablet:
- Ployer Momo9C (Allwinner A10)
- Stock Gingerbread (2.3.4) firmware

Playing AVI files gives me "hardware decoding cannot be used". Files play normally but movie could be more fluid and battery seems to drain fast.
Installing the ARMv7 codecs doesn't help. Anything I am missing here?

On the same tablet, MX Player happily uses hardware decoding but there are some features in BSPlayer I like more.

Same problem on my MK802, (Allwinner A10). All my videos (H264 mp4 and mkv) only play in SW mode which causes stuttering and dropped frames.

This device has a 1Ghz Cortex A8 CPU with Mali 400 GPU so it should be able to play HD videos with HW acceleration.

Try system HW mode (but playback over LAN is not supported for this mode).

System h/w doesn't work. The video quits after a few seconds (back to BSPlayer file selection menu). Weird, especially considering that the built-in player plays them OK. But it has some severe flaws (subtitles "stick") and lacks all of BSPlayer's nice features.
I've tried a few other players and for those which let us know whether s/w or h/w decoding is used, none had any problem except BSPlayer
I really like BSPlayer's features though.. it also works perfectly on my other very low-speced TCC8902 tablet. What's with the A10 tablets? (well some of them at least)

Hi,

I have a MiniX Plus media player (based on Android 4.0.2) with Allwinner A10 SoC, with Mali 400 GPU. The hardware decoding isn't working. If I choose "System H/W" mode, BS Player just quits.

I hope there's an update with a fix. Thank you!

Hi, any update about this issue? There're many cheap tablets / TV boxes out there incompatible with BS.Player. It would be nice to have HW acceleration!

Thank you!
