Default [Feature request] Rotation of videos taken in Portrait mode

Hi,

When I record a video in portrait mode, and try to watch it in bsplayer the video is rotated 90 degrees. If I try to play it in default android video player the video is not rotated. Is it possible change this behaviour?

Thanks in advance,
Manuel Vidigal

Maybe download app "Rotation Locker" (by madmack) from Google Play Store.
It enables you to (generally) enforce either Portrait or Landscape mode or "Auto".
I myself use it (for the opposite purpose as you) on my Google (Asus) Nexus 7 tablet (which natively only shows portrait mode).

Another (and maybe a better) option for you is to use BSPlayer's own features:
While playing a movie, tap screen and then tap menu (at top-right in the bar).
Then select "Preferences" followed by "General Preferences"
Scroll down and tap on "Screen orientation"
Select "Portrait" (or "Portrait (sensor)")

Thanks for your help Peter.

But using the rotation locker workaround, although I can see the movie in the correct orientation, is doesn't expand to full screen .

Forcing the screen orientation (landscape), I get the expected behavior though the bars are always in landscape mode.

Isn't it possible to get the screen orientation metadata from the video file (when it exists)? In order to choose correctly how the video should be displayed?

Thanks.
