Default H264 Hardware decoding issues on Rockchip RK3066

I don't know if this is known but I recently bought a Tablet, the Archos Gamepad with an Rockchip RK3066 1.6ghz Dualcore.

I've been trying to play 1080p MKV's in h264, the video works fine and fluently after some seconds I see random artifacts on the screen and either the video stops playing and goes back into the filebrowser, the device freezes or suddenly reboots.

I tried alternate decoding and system hardware decoding, but none of it works properly and keeps stuttering.

The MKV works properly on my Nexus 7 Tablet, and also with the Archos Video player on the Gamepad, but without sound.

Is there any way to fix this?
