Unhappy h264 Hi10 Anime with artifacts

I know this was discussed in some threads, but here is my problem:

On some high quality anime (in my example Fate/Zero released by UTW) hardware accelerated decoding (using h264 Hi coded) gives specific, block shaped artifacts.

On the other hand SW playback gives low frame rate (~15)m, but has no artifacts.

Is there a way to bypass this? I tried different combinations of options and decoding methods over LAN and locally and the the effect is pretty much the same.

Im using paid version of BSPlayer on first generation Nexus 7 (JB 4.3).
