Default strange "DirecX 7" error when trying 2 open files

Hello:

I just downloaded BS Player 0.86 bulid 495, however the player will not play any file I try to open. I have tried playing a "wmv", "avi", and even "MP3" file yet it won't open any of them, and I get an error message that says "this version requires DirecX 7". I don't understand why this is happening, especially because I have been able to play these filesin other Media Players which I have. Does anybody know why this is happening and what I can do to solve the problem? Thanks!

Default

and what version of directX do you have ?

that other players don't require newer versions of directX doesn't mean that bsplayer doesn't

P.S. please do not cross post... it's completely useless

1. the "search button" picture is in my signature which is added to all my posts. It was not directed against you, it just "general advertisement".

2. yes I did try it
