We can't say why it is not working without a sample.

Works for us. Perhaps some system codec is interferring. Go to Filters and check which codec is used for decoding, then blacklist it in Blacklist/Whitelist manager.

Is it work for you on winxp or win2k3?
it is not codec problem, because it is working in for example Media Player Classic.

MPC uses it's own internal codecs.
Could you post a screenshot of which filters are used to decode the file as Ico-man suggested?

Usually, the decoding chain is at follows:
1. Splitter - > splits the file into streams: audio, video, subtitles
2. Decoding filters -> decodes specific streams.

If the splitter doesn't detect correctly which streams are into the file, it will pas only the recognized streams to decoders.

Open such a file -> rightclick -> options -> filters -> advanced
