Maybe you didn't know, but apparently you've installed and are using a separate program DVOBSUB to display subtitles (also shown by a green arrow in the system tray): Quote:

Thanks. Now I understand what is that green arrow that appears while I try to open my movies and subs in Windows Media Player and that almost always makes my computer crash. I'll search and uninstall this DVOBSUB used by Media Player.

Command line to "uninstall" directvobsub (first search for dvobsub.ax to find out its path if you don't know it) In Win 9x/Me c:\windows\system\regsvr32/u <path>dvobsub.ax In Win2000 & XP: c:\windows\system32\regsvr32/u <path>dvobsub.ax
