Default installed BSplayer and now can't play DVDs

Hey. I installed BSplayer a couple days ago (along with the K-Lite Codec Pack). Now I can't seem to play my DVDs. Whenever I put in a DVD, the drive keeps spinning and spinning and sometimes makes some pretty weird noises. Occasionally, I would get the window asking what program I would like to use to play the DVD (Media Player, PowerDVD, etc). But this happens randomly and I have not been able to figure out why. I know BSplayer isn't supposed to take care of DVDs, but could it be interferring with my DVD decoder program (PowerDVD)? I never had problems with any of my DVDs before.

I've uninstalled BSplayer and reinstalled RealPlayer and DivX player (both of which were recommended to be uninstalled when installing BSplayer). I've also checked to see if PowerDVD needed to be updated. It doesn't. I still can't play my DVDs. Can anybody help?

(Also, PowerDVD came with my computer. Does anybody have any recommendations for a free DVD playback program that's better than PowerDVD?)

I think this is rather a hardware problem than a software one. The drive don't recognise the disk that is inserted. Try a cleaning disk.
PowerDVD is a good tool.

Noticed you installed a codec-pack. Often problems are caused by installing to many "goodies" contained in codec-packs. That's why I advise against installing codec packs.
However, that being said, have you already tried to (uninstall and then) re-install Power DVD?
