Default Using Win 7 builtin codecs

When first launching BS on Win7 the CodecManager starts which recommends installing some codecs.
If one is running Win7, why does the CodecManager still recommend installing FFDSHOW, when Win7 already decodes pretty much everything that FFDSHOW does?

MPEG2 decoder is crappy, AVC (H264) decoder is crappy...do I need to continue ?
At this moment ffdshow does a better job than W7's codecs so BSPlayer's teram recomends ffdshow.

good to know.

1. What about CoreAVC, how does it fare against FFDSHOW?
2. Is FFDSHOW-tryouts even development anymore? Since the last public release is deemed beta which was more than a year ago.

1. I personally use CoreAVC instead of ffdshow. Downgrade: it's not free.
2. I don't use ffdshow, so I can't give you info about it. Last release is 2011-09-22

Does BSPLAYER use FFDSHOW-TRYOUTS or this one:
Download FFDSHOW rev. 3984 (20110922) (open source) - AfterDawn: Software downloads ?

BS.Player presently still uses version 1.0.7.3135 (build of 12-Mar-2009).
(Unless you've installed another - later - version on your system yourselves.)
