Perhaps check possibilities of Playlist. (rightclick > Playlist)

yes, that works. thanks! funny, because I tried setting aspect ratio in the playlist before in earlier builds of bsplayer and it didn't ever work. However it's working with this latest version. Now that I can do that, i wish i could CTRL+A to select all the files in the list... |

You can also define your preferred settings as default for playlist (rightclick > Options > Preferences > Playlist)
