Default EXTREMELY IMPORTANT!!!: MISSING RESOLUTION 1680 X 1050

THE BS PLAYER 2.1 DOESNT SUPPORT THIS RESOLUTION FROM MONITORS ACER AL2016W SPEC: WIDESCREEN AND 20", FOR THIS REASON I CANNOT SEE THE SUBTITLES ON MOST OF THE ANIME I HAVE IN MY COMPUTER, DUE TO ANIME ALWAYS ARE FULL SCREEN DIFFERENT FROM DVD MOVIES WHICH EVEN THOUGH THE BS PLAYER DOESNT HAVE THE RESOLUTION FROM MY MONITOR I CAN WATCH THE SUBTITLES BECAUSE WHEN I PUT IT FULL SCREEN YOU ONLY SEE THE HALF OF THE IMAGE FROM UP SIDE DOWN.

I HOPE YOU CREATE AN UPDATE FOR THE PLAYER WITH THIS RESOLUTION OR PUT IT ON THE NEXT VERSION. SOMEBODY NOTIFY ME IF THE CHANGES ARE MADE.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH. FROGGY123

Tizio will become famous soon enough

In the meantime can you try to use the "For full screen mode switch to" option in General preferences (CTRL+P -> General)?
Maybe set it to change resolution to 1280x800 :roll:

Is the same thing that im saying when i put it in full screen mode it overfills the screen because the nearest resolution is bigger and that's why i cant see the subtitles.

The sad thing is that to see the anime now i've to see them not in full screen but in a smaller resolution so i can see the subtitles. I really hope that in the next version you'll put the resolution 1680 x 1050 (WSXGA+) or maybe in an update. Do you know when the next version is released??

Only BSplayer developpers know when next version will be released..

You have tried to switch to another resolution so when you switch to full screen it will be supported by BSplayer?
Are the subtitles hardsubbed into the movie file or are they external files?
If the subtitles are not hardsubbed you can move them, so they'll be shown completely..

I don't understand how they can't be shown completely.. Have you changed the Pan&Scan settings? Video size/format?

In Normal (not full screen) mode you should be able to see the whole movie copreensive of subtitles.... :?

Which version of DirectX have you installed?

You could perhaps make BSPlayer change resolution for full screen automatically:
(rightclick >) Options > Preferences > General > [General settings]
and then [For full screen mode switch to]
(Second option in the "centre-column" just below the check-boxes window)

Damn, there would be way less problems if the world sticked to square pixels.

Froggy ::

I don't think your anime has 1152*864 resolution. That would be close to Hi Definition. By choosing this res you are resampling TWICE. Once in the videoadapter and then in your (digital) monitor.

Was your original problem that BSPlayer assumed you have a regular 4/3 display instead of Widescreen?

BSPeter, Tizio ::

Froggy123 has an LCD monitor. Setting a different resolution doesn't really work there because LCDs have just one resolution. The only reasonable operation of these crappy displays is to drive them in their native res and upsample the movie either using CPU or GPU.
