Default Screencapping & Subtitles

Hey, I was wondering if there was on option to be able to take screenshots without the subtitles appearing, but still be able to be seen on the video. The only reason I think I can do this is because I recently upgraded to Windows 7 from XP, and it did just that without me setting anything. Now when I try to take a screencap, it saves the subtitles to it as well. I'm aware I can turn subtitles off to take a screencap, but that's a bit tedious to do each time. This was with softsubs on a .mkv file.
