Yes, if you install an mkv splitter you can watch mkv files using BSPlayer. Just follow the link for Matroska files. As for rv40 files, they are realmedia encoded files, and you need also an RM splitter. Use the same link below and go to Real Player link from there. Also in that post you can find more about installing RPlayer support.
I don't use MPC so I can't tell you about that.

PS remember, MKV is just a conteiner. You need also the codecs to decode the video\audio streams.
