Default Installation Problem (Win98)

When I try to install the latest build (809), the installer hangs when trying to exectue the -SLNG command. Has anyone else encountered this?

You don't need to use installer if it makes problems to you. Download the bsplayer in a zip package, unzip it and simply run bsplayer.exe file.

I have the same problem with the installer.
With the zip version, problem is not solved because "bsplayer.exe" is always freeze after being launched.

I am trying to use an older version (807 or 808).

Maybe this has something to do with installation in a particular language?
Have you tried to install in (original) English language.
You can change language easily afterwards:
(rightclick > Options > Language)

Please let us know your findings.

Thank you Peter for your help ,

but I've also though to that solution when I was happy to discover that 800 works well in english, instead of french (my first language) which wasn't available in this version :) .

Regrettably, after having uninstalled 800 and installed 809 directly in english, I obtained the same bad result described by AndersGabrielsson :( .

For information, right click solution is not possible because 809 or 807 version is frozen (with near 100% CPU assigned) before the first screen appears.

Another idea ?
