Tizio. What can a video codec possibly do with parsing the container format? Audio streams must be available even if the video can't be decoded at all.

There is nothing wrong with l3codec.ax v1.9. It can decode without problems 256/320 kBit/s streams. And no matter what *.acm are installed in the system, DS filters will be querried first.

The problem is in sampling frequency. Sometimes you'll find MP3 files with 48.000 hz sampling rate on wich windows' decoder fails,

My mistake. I meant l3codecx.ax. Version 1.5 outputted silence when fed with 256-320 kBit/s stream. That is the default decoder. In contrast I never encountered problems with 48 kHz, I have many streams of this samplerate, as well as 32 kHz. Tested and worked O.K. Could be specific drivers problem perhaps.

That's correct. I asked Henry to report all DS libraries loaded. Maybe new DivX6 stuff interferes with good splitters.

Just tested ver 1.5 with an XviD/MP3 (320kbps) I've just made. No problems in playing it. Probably you did have problems on 256/320 kbps lile some others had problems on 48.000 Hz.

v1.5 acts like this with a single audio stream (regular *.mp3). Playback goes on as silence. After seeking in the file correct audio is being output. v1.9 fixed this problem. [44.1 kHz / 256 kBit/s]

All DVDs and most DACs come in this samplerate, so no "sometimes".

I just wanted to object that it doesn't always. Nothing's better than a small and fast 90 kB filter.

Some other format at 48 kHz. Mp3 is often chosen during ripping.

It appears that the author of the Nero bloatware has stumbled upon my problem with 320 kBit/s MP3.
