DivX-codec installed? Read items (3) and (4) of my Help2Help-post.

A poor picture quality can be caused by 3 (?) factors:
1. Originally poor encoded film (no solution)
2. Not performant rendering mode (try to change rendering mode in BSplayer settings CTRL+P->Video->Video rendering->Rendering mode)
3. Poor codec (install a better codec)

In your case I doubt the problem resides in codec, but who knows.. can you tell us which codec is used when you play a movie (right-click->Options->Filters->Advanced)?

Is that BSPlayers default rendering mode good or is overlay mixer better? anyhow,i don't see much difference between those two. Only big difference is that i can't take screencaps with overlay mixer.

I personally have not seen differences between those modes..
I think it depends also by the video card installed..only with RGB mode I noticed a worst quality..

Usually poor quality is generated by bad FFDShow configuration. Used to have a Radeon 9550, good card.
Could you say where the video files come from ? As the error you posted it's caused by an internet protocol used over ISDN lines for streaming.
And don't forget to post here wich filters are used to play the file, as Tizio asked for.
