Default problem playing .mpg movie

I've just downloaded version 2.12 and have a strange problem: it plays avi movie well, bur refers to mpg movie as an audio file - plays only the movie's audio! Can anyone help please?? :(

You need an MPEG decoder
Take a look at adicoto's list of codecs (link in "READ THIS FIRST BEFORE POSTING" sticky post by BSPeter)

I have several mpeg decoders on my computer. Windows media player and other players I have play mpeg files just right. But I like BS most... What can be the problem??

As Tizio already told you; you probably need an MPEG-decoder, or to be more precise an MPEG2 decoder.
