conflict with K-Lite Mega Codec Pack ????? Is it becous of the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack ????? |
| ||||
Perhaps. Seems rather likely as you mention that you're experiencing this behaviour since you installed it. Difficult to say really. And exactly that is the problem with codec-packs and why we generally advise against installing packs but instead advise to install only the individual codecs and/or filters which you really need. :|

Please do not install codec packs untill you're aware of what you're installing. You must uninstall codec pack completely then check with "codec sniper" for a complete de-registration of filters. Then install filters one by one.

The short answer: Most formats can be decoded using - Gabest's Matroska Splitter - ffdshow Video Decoder - Ac3Filter or older version - CoreAAC decoder The longer answer. Matroska only defines the container format. It can contain video and audio streams in various different formats, including obscure and obsolete ones. You must determine how audio and video is encoded. |

You should not ever never install any MEGA codec packs!!! What you need is FFDShow DirectShow Filter. It handles many video formats, like DivX, XviD, H264 and so on... It also handles many audio formats, like MP3, AC3*, AAC & Vorbis (OGG). *Anyway, for AC3 you should install AC3Filter. Then you need splitters for MKV (Matroska), MP4 & OGG/OGM files. (Windows already got build-in AVI splitter.) FFDShow: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/vi...rs/ffdshow.cfm AC3Filter: http://ac3filter.net/ MP4 Splitter: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/MP4_Splitter.htm Matroska Splitter: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/...a_Splitter.htm Ogg DirectShow Filters: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/...ow_Filters.htm For MPEG2/DVD playback you need to install MPEG2 decoder, like this one: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/...der_Filter.htm |

I've installed FFDshow ones and that program was flipping even harder than k-lite, I'm not even sure if its K-lite's foult, I've got another program to play the MKV movies so i use bsplayer for the rest Tnx anyway |

In fact FFDshow was already included in K-lite's pack (starting from "standard version"). Did you fully uninstall K-lite and then only install FFDshow without any of the other programs as referred to or ...?

If you only installed FFDshow it wouldn't work.

BS.Player is not compatible with the Haali splitter. That is probably why you have problems with .mkv. It works fine in pretty much every other player, so it is a bug in BS.Player. Just select the Gabest splitters during installation of K-Lite and it will work great with BS.Player. |

Thank you very mutch, that advise worked perfectly, do you also know a way to convert MKV movies to dvd without getting the sound out of synchronisation, I'm from belguim so the most machiens work in Pal
