missing codec
 

Hi
I am new to BS player and a bit clueless when it comes to computers. I've recently downloaded BS player as i needed a DVD decoder in order to play DVDs through my external DVD player attached to my PC. I have so far been unsuccessful in watching any DVDs as BS player says it is unable to play due to a missing codec. When I click on 'find codec' it says no codec found. Bizarely it will let me view the very first chapter of the movie - ie the privacy statement but then does not let me go on to view the rest. In fact i can not work out how to even view the whole movie as it just seems to give options to view 1 chapter at a time - then says the missing codec stuff.:confuse:

Anyone got any ideas?
