Can't add more then one .xvid to a Playlist (Help)

Hey guys, I have BSPlayer 2.14 and it will only allow me to put 1 .xvid video in the playlist. I tried putting all 29 in there, but it doesn't work. I can put as many .avi as I want, but not xvid... any solution?

xvid encoded movies normally have an .avi extension (not .xvid).
Maybe it is related to BS.Player therefore not recognizing these files as video files. Try as follows:
(rightclick >) Options > Preferences > General > File types
Now type "xvid" in the white box above "Add extension" and then click "Add extension", at which time you will be prompted to indicate the mediatype: select Video.
Close (maybe also Exit and restart).
Does that help?
:wink:

Or there was a misspelling and it's about .divx extension ?

A misspelling? I doubt it. The name Xvid (at first XviD) for the opensource codec was chosen quite deliberately and it is not accidentally DivX spelled backwards. I can imagine some letters being switched by accident when typing fast, but not an entire word in the exact reversed order.

@Logikbomb
The version you're using (2.14 (unless exactly thàt's a typo and you're really referring to the recent beta version 2.41)) is from January 2007. Now I do remember that there have been some bugfixes with playlist in the past, but I cannot recall any bugreports similar to yours. I'm afraid probably no one of us still has version 2.14 installed, so that we are unable to try to reproduce your problem. Therefore I would also suggest you to update.

I personally haven't seen a file with .xvid extension, that's why I suggested that it may be a misspelling ;) , as long as there are plenty of .divx files.

I sofar didn't see any files with xvid extension either but one never knows, so let's just wait and see (if unlike last time this time the user does also come back to the thread if solved).
:wink:
