version 1.0 has a bad bug in the skin engine

Hi everybody. I'm the author of some very popular skins for BS like: nickyz DVP, AuriX v1, 2; IQ+, RT7, ION player and others... Yesterday I tried BS 1.0 and found that my skins don't work anymore. So I spent some time in inspecting the new format of skin ini files.
At last I successfully updated one on my skins but there is a disagreeable bug in the skin engine that doesn't render properly volume bars and buttons with transparency (or shaped buttons), as a result the transparent color in bmp file is shown and things look really ugly. I'm not going to update my skins unless that bug is solved. All my skins generally use transparent shaped buttons so its crucial for me keep the design in same quality.

Can't wait till it's fixed :) I love DVP v3 !
I already started converting it myself, but you can do it better ;)

I hope you read this? It's in skin.ini
0-Normal buttons
1-Shaped buttons
2-Transparent (currently not supported in full screen skins)
3-Blend (not supported yet)

I have tried that and it doesn't work. It is beyond doubt a bug.

Hi nickyz,
I tried your Mac OS X Aqua and I have some suggestions to make it more readable and text clear.
Let me know how I can submit them to you :)

P.S.
When will OS X Aqua skin for bsplayer 1.0 be available? I like it a lot ;)

Don't know about three different versions ZanderZ.
Can tell you however, that I delivered the Dutch language file for every build of BSPlayer since version 0.84 (April 2002).

Hi I've noticed this too.
Sometimes it seems like 75% of the skins I have don't load correctly showing the BSplayer default instead.
(It's probably like one in three or four but that is still way too many.)

Is it possible that this has to do with a changes in the syntax of skins files?
I like the syntax changes i've seen but this complicates life.

I've been reading "how to" with working but mediocre results.
This is a great thread here someone that starts with a solid explanation of what extentions mean and in replies updates some of the outdated and incomplete undertsandings. The problem is that as I read it it seemed like a progressive cascade of confusion. i.e. I'm a newbie and trying to keep track of and filter out bad and out of date information is frustrating. No sooner do I find the only detailed webpage on the net than I realize syntax and some other things have changed.

BSPlayer is great. I love the Sapphire skin, but have my own ideas about a hotkey cheat sheet menu. Also I'm sure that a lot of things in the right click menu can have keyboard short cuts added to support them.

My goal is to creat a more compact and powerful Sapphire inspired skin, without making buttons smaller!!! (Some skins use rediculously small or badly unlabeled buttons.) A lot of thing could just list the key command labels.

Anyways there is a lot of creativity out there.
A good "how to" or explanation of extentions and syntax would be very helpful.

Hi David,

I sent the guys at BSplayer.org a copy of my "how to" doc and asked that they post it if they think it is worthy. Contact Mat2000 if you want a copy.
