not a single skin works that I downloaded

just downloaded the latest player version - and wanted to get mor skins than what come with it.
Well, I downloaded about four of them I like - but not a single skin works = the skin selector pops the "unsupported file" window up.
So - they are all useless.
Maybe there is another way to save the files? now in the new version?????

Help is appreciated.
ps: tried to save both ways 'all files' and zip - but neither works.
