what are the additional functionalities?

Hi,
I like BSPlayer and might consider buying it but I can't find what are the additional functionnalities of the paid version?

So what would I get except getting rid of the ads?

For now main differences are:
No ads
Volume pre-amp up to 200%
Customizable pre-buffering
Defineable aspect ratios

Is BSPlayer Pro capable of audio passthrough? I would consider purchasing if it can passthrough audio.
I have installed the lite version, video is good but noticed that it downstream the audio.
If this feature will be available, I would surely purchase this app.

Pre-buffering is usefull for all streaming content, not only YouTube videos.

Probably about the ability to send the audio stream directly to the HDMI connector, without downstream/downmix it.

How good is the volume pre-amp feature in practice? Does it actually help for videos that were quite quiet or does it also amplify the background noise and this makes the increased volume irrelevant? TIA

Ico-man 24th December 2012 11:25 AM

BSPlayer amplifies all audio signal, not just vocals/foreground sounds.

Sorry, I didn't mean background as in the non-vocal audio. I meant background noise as in the hissing you can sometimes hear when the audio is amplified too much.

I hope new version will be "elapsed time" and "battery/clock" always display while watching the movie as MXPlayer.

Surround sound through Miracast or DLNA

I don't know much about DLNA and not much more about Miracast. My new phone, a OnePlus One, no longer provides direct HDMI output, but it does Miracast and probably also DLNA.

My question is, will surround sound (5.1 and 7.1) be transmitted through Miracast? I would like to know before I buy a Miracast adapter to connect to a TV, AV-Receiver, or projector.

Theoretically there are two ways to achieve surround sound transmission:
  1. Binary pass-through—the sound track (DTS, AC-3, etc.) is taken from the video file unaltered and forwarded to the display unit.
  2. BS Player (or the device it controls) decodes various audio formats, like DTS or AC-3, and recodes them into another format, like multi-channel PCM.
If BS Player can do any of this, which one is it?

If anybody here watches movies from an Android device through Miracast, please tell your story. How well does it work? Which adapter, if any, do you use?

Ico-man 4th November 2014 02:46 PM

DLNA and Miracast are not supported by BSPlayer, so no surround sound is supported atm.

hardware acceleration on Xiaomi Redmi 1

Have Xiaomi Redmi 1 with MT6589T CPU. Even on latest BSPlayer free version couldn't get hardware acceleration work (now it turned on, but the player still playing in SW mode). Install all hardware codecs and nothing changes. On MP Player and others it's okey, they play in HW mode.
