BSplayer free no longers shows controls on lock screen in Marshmallow

BSplayer free no longers shows controls on lock screen in Marshmallow. I'm not sure if this happened when I updated from Lollipop. Is this a setting or a change in Marshmallow? Any way to get the controls back?
