Firestick remote controls

I loaded BS Player on my Firestick from AptoidTV. It plays just fine but I can't use the Firestick remote to FF or REW - it doesn't recognize the remote's FF/REW buttons and the settings do not have anything that would enable them.

Anyone have any ideas on how to make it work?
