auto resolution change

Can we have an option to automatically change resolution/refresh rate depending on video resolution/fps?

Refresh rate it's hardware related and has nothing to do with movie fps, so changing it won't do any good. (25 fps and 85 Hz on a CRT or 60 on a TFT have nothing in common).
On the other hand, if you have a TFT monitor, changing resolution other than native one won't do any good, in fact can only do worse.
If you still want to change resolutions and still have a CRT, in general options you can set "at start" and "in full screen" resolutions.

That's not exactly true. I have plasma TV and movies look much better if I match fps with refresh frequency (24Hz for 24fps movies, 50Hz for 25 or 50fps movies, 60Hz for 30fps movies). Unfortunately, I have to do this manually...
