subtitles

in order to improve my english level i watch english film with french subtitles.

usually subtitles are files with .srt extensions
i use BS player.

pb
how to solve when u have a little time different between the speaking and the subtitles?

for instance if a want to add 10 s to the subtitles files

Opening a.srt file ,there is
---------------
1
00:00:55,407 --> 00:00:57,921
those were the years after ice has melted

2
00:01:00,927 --> 00:01:02,485
and the oceans have risen

3
00:01:02,567 --> 00:01:08,039
so many cities on the shorelines
have been drowned

etc...........
-------------------

of course i can manually add 10s at each time(00:00:00),
but it would be tooooooooooo long!!!

is there something,i could put at yhe beginning of the file to inform it that
it must start 10 s after the 00:00;00 time?

(ex 00:00:00=00:00:10)

if u could help me
i would be so pleased

thank u for your help

There are many (many!) subtitle files editors on divx-digest that will help solve this

I'd say SubAdjust is not bad

Good luck ;)

I got this program-subAdjuster but I can't understand how it's working!
I tried many hours but nothing!
Can you explain me please exactly what I have to do?

I can suggest 2 things:

- either continue using SubAdjust using the guide for it that you can find here

- or use the tool SubSynch which is much easier to use: you can shift all the subtitles, stretch them, and if you need fine-tuning you can just watch the movie on the included player and press "space" whenever you want to add a subtitle (as long as you keep it pressed, the subtitle will appear in the movie). Try it!

Cheers, Smarties :P

Subsync Sans h?©sitation

Je fais la mÄ™me chose que toi ... J'utilise SubSync pour r?©gler le d?©calage. Ce logiciel est magique et tu peux en faire ce que tu veux ... et en plus il est gratuit.

Use BSPlayer instead

You can adjust the subtitle timing while the movie is playing by pressing Ctrl+Left/Right & Shift+Left/Right

BSPlayer rulez!!
