Feature request: Free aspect ratio I would like just that - It's all very well, that I can select Original, 4:3 and 16:9, but if I get a videofile that is really supposed to be 2,35:1 but has been encoded as 16:9 (or I get a 16:9 which has black bars and is totally screwed up) it would be very nice to be able to set the aspect ratio manually - either by stretching the video window or even better, typing it in the preferences... Hope to see this feature soon... /Truck3r |
it IS possible to set custom aspect ratio options .. preferences .. video .. custom aspect ratios |
Free aspect ratio I know this topic is a bit old, but still... For some reason I have many videos for which none of the standard aspect ratios work. By far the easiest way to adjust the aspect ratio I have seen is by allowing to stretch the picture vertically freely. This is SO EASY to use when you don't know the exact aspect numbers. I'd love to see this feature. ZoomPlayer has it, but due to various other issues I'm using BSplayer now. |
The answer is in fact already partly given in JTHawK#2"'s post above. Further check out these posts (click on the links): for windowed mode for full screen mode  |
Ah, thanks! But wouldn't it make more sense to have a way to _decrease_ the size as well as increase? I mean, one key to increase the height and another to decrease it, since it's easy to overdo it. The only thing I managed to find is to reset it back to original. I wonder whether people use the ability to stretch up/down independently, and whether anybody else thinks one should be able to free-resize to smaller sizes. |
Hi! It's true that we can define free aspect ratios, but they are not usable in the playlist windows (where we chose 'original', 'as previous', 'anamorphic', ...) It would be fun to be able to choose one of the custom aspect ratio for each video on a playlist. |
