Default Just started on using BSplayer

Just started using BSplayer 2 days ago and I here is what I have to say.

First thing I found out:

It plays video well.
I had some avis that seem to play with a video lag on WMP9 but the lag isn't there when using BS.(The problem was later found that the lag is caused by the WOW sound enhancement)

Then I found that:

It doesn't support the multimedia keys on my keyboard.
Tried assigning functions to them but play and pause cannot be on the same button.

There is also misc random problems occuring like when I switch off the overlay and play the video again it will say that it is an unknown format.
Got this after disabling the overlay.
Code:
Access violation at address 00403FAB in module 'bplay.exe'. Read of address 00B498EC
EAccessViolation
, 0x004C9F33, 0x004CA1AD, 0x004526BB, 0x00449D26, 0x77D67AD7, 0x77D6CCD4, 0x77D44455, 0x77D44D58, 0x004DD64A, 0x77E814C7
Bytes at EIP: 3A 0A 74 17 3A 4A 01 74 11 3A 4A 02 74 0B 3A 4A 03 74
After this every video is an unknown format until I change the overlay mode although the overlay is off.

When I try to register formats like say avi and mpg, the default action of avi will become "Enqueue in BSplayer" and for mpg it is "Play".
Tried to uncheck the formats and press register again but the formats still stay with BS so I register them back to WMP than I tried again. Now what comes out is the opposite(default action of mpg will become "Enqueue in BSplayer" and for avi it is "Play"). I tried redoing the step once more and managed to get both to "Play".

During play when there are fast scenes I can see some horizontal line/edge appearing across the picture but with overlay on it dissappears.
What does the overlay do? Is it recomanded to on it?

When VMR9 is enabled video in window mode lags but plays alright in full screen. Why?

Also without the overlay, on the first few seconds during play there is an effect something like a green screen than it dissappers with the kind of effect like when you fast-forward a video tape. It happens pretty quick.

Forgive me for being blunt but the icons included are really ugly.
And the exe is locked can't reshack the icons.

BSplayer is a very nice player but I wish these problems I encountered to be solved.

BSPlayer is very buggy.
Download the newest version.
Install DirectX 9.
Install the leatest graphic card drivers.

If it doens't help i raccomand you Media Player Classic:
WinXP - http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/g...5.zip?download
Win9x - http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/g...5.zip?download

Already used MPC for Quicktime and Real.
On my PC MPC can't play mp3 and some videos play with no sound.

I think I'll hang on to BSP.
(I've already installed DX9 and downloaded the latest version)

Using last build of bsplayer and directx is not enough.
Be sure to have divx, xvid and ac3 installed, and as the newest realeases you can find.
Overlay mode put some of the presure on the videocard (instead of CPU) and gives a better image quality.
And by the way, CPU and videocard have a big influence.

I have ffdshow taking care of most formats.
From WinDVD I've gotten some codecs (AC3?).

And my PC runs on P4 1.8Ghz and GeForce2 MX.

Anyway whats the diff between overlay mode 1 & 2?
