Subtitle support .idx/.sub/.ifo It would be great if BSplayer could finally support vobsubs (.idx/.sub/.ifo -> DVD subtitles) files. Because currently we have to load vobsub, and if there are also .srt files along, we get 2 subtitles, so we have to manually turn off vobsub. The only thing missing from BSplayer is native support for vobsub subtitles and it would be perfect :D |
(MicroDVD-subtitle).sub-files are already supported. I personally don't really know the .idx format, but maybe it is covered by one of the subtitle-utilities (e.g. see this post), and you could "translate" these subtitles to a at which is supported by BSPlayer? |
The .idx/.sub/.ifo format is where the subs are ripped from the DVD directly, without any OCR and things like that. Yes, of course I could translate them, but that's an extra step, and if BSplayer could support that natively I/we wouldn't have to do that. |
OK, I remember now. I knew I had come across .idx earlier, but I couldn't place it. (this is a repeated request/suggestion isn't it?) |
Yes  /me turns away in shame  This doesn't mean I just LOVE BSPlayer and what you have done with it! Now, where's that donate link? :D |

The maker/creator of BSPlayer is bst, who deserves all the credit! |
I'm just gonna kick this. Ever since I switched to WinXP, I've had problems with vobsubs. On my second screen they won't display, or only occasionally. I tried media player classic (http://sourceforge.net/project/shown...ease_id=227046) but that takes up 100% CPU on the second screen. Please, implement bitmap subtitles support in an upcoming version of BSplayer (vobsubs). That is the only thing BSplayer needs to become perfect! Oh, and btw....we love you bst :D Hell, I'll even pay for it, if that's done :!: |

I am shamelessly going to kick this! This is the only thing BSplayer misses to be the the perfect player. So do not implement this unless you want a perfect player? Why do I want this? Simply because all divx's come with .ifo&.idx subtitle-streams (bitmaps) and vobsub horribly screws up when trying to parse it to the second, tv-screen. You really need finetuning and an exact process to get it to work. It is annoying. Why cannot BSplayer natively support it as it supports matroska, subrip, etc. subtitles? |
We will do this. |
Oh man, if you do this, you'll get my eternal love and all my manbabies. |
*kick* /me hides |
