Disable screen saver automatically Hello, I think an option to automaticaly disable the screen saver while playing a video would be nice. Personnaly i always forget it, and the screen saver always pops up in the middle of the video  Best regards Chris |
I second that idea - auto disabling the screen saver (or at least an option in the prefs to auo disable the screensaver or not) would be a fantastic option! I love this program soo much! Cocksy |
screensaver disable I agree, still does not work for latest version (Final) when playing on two monitors and playwindow is secundary T. |
I thing, I have solution Hi all, This behavious drawed me to mad too, therefore I decided to develop my own plugin to BSPlayer, which disable durring movie playing such an functionality (calling of screensaved). Well, if you want it here it's located: DisableScrnSaver.zip In case of troubles please send me your suggestions, reports about bugs, you know ... thanks a lot. |
Does this disable the automatic screen shut-down too? |
Theorically yes.. but I never tried it by myself. You can try it and then let us know if this will work  |
Disable Screen Saver I tried the plugin supplied by moonspa (available above) in order to block screen saver from running while playing movies on BSplayer, but it didn´t work. (I tried in the version 1.38 and 1.39). When I load a movie file, a window appears with the message: [Disabe Screensaver] Error The operation completed successfully. OK When I click OK the movie keeps playing but id didn´t block the screen saver from running. Does any one know what might be happening and how should I proceed in order to block the screen saver from running? |
What happened to the simple solution not to use screen saver at all? If you want to display nice visualization while you are away, you can always run one of those programs manually by creating a button somewhere. And it will never pop up while you are working. Screensavers do not protect the display. |

I tried the plugin and it worked fine (at least in Windows ME, not yet tried with Windows XP). The plugin doesn't work if you setted the shut down monitor after xx minutes of inactivity. As J7N suggested, don't use screen savers  |
Don't use screensavers. But use power saving options for the monitor. |
Screen Saver blocking I don´t use any power saving feature (turn off monitor, turn off HD, etc), and unfortunately I CAN´T turn off my screen saver because it´s a company´s laptop and they block the option of turning it off. And I still have the problem that I described above (the plugin doesn´t work). I would be very glad if someone could help on this (either helping me to turn off the screen saver even with company´s block or helping me to make this plugin work). |

I don't know how to help you, maybe the only possibility you have is to use an utility that moves your mouse cursor every minute, so the screen saver never starts... but this way you will have the mouse cursor that will show you up every minute when watching a movie in fullscreen (you can always put your mouse pointer at the bottom of the screen  ) |
Thanks for the reply Tizio, I think you´re completely right. Does anyone know any kind of software/applicative/etc that moves the mouse once in a while? Or maybe any kind of software that inhibits screen saver from running (even if it´s blocked by the administrator?) |
You can take a look here Otherwise if those utilities are not of help to you, MAYBE I can try to write an app to do so :) Let me know if those applications are of help  |
What if you delete that stupid screensaver? WinXP might restore it "for you", so it sure will take some time. |
You'll find them in c:\windows\system32 with .scr extension. At first attempt, windows let you delete it. |
Not sure about that. System File Protection (if not disabled) likes to copy everything to DllCache and restore after a while. While it might not be used for regular screensavers this company logo might be included in protected list. |
