Fast Forward Speed First of all let me say that I am amazed that this software even exists and is free. It's very inspirational to me, since I am a developer as well. Anyways, one thing that I think bsplayer is REALLY missing is variable speed fast forward and rewind. Right now I have to hit "." a bunch of times to get where I want. It would be nice if I could hit fast forward once and get a certain fast forward speed (like the one now), and hit fast forward again to get a greater speed). Then maybe even a third time to REALLY jump forward. The same would go for reverse. Other than that, keep up the good work! |
In this case maybe Jump function can be more helpful than FF or RW, don't you think ? Options, play, jump to time... |
The problem with the jump function is that I keep having to press the button. Using a remote control and pressing the button a bunch of times to jump is a pain (I am using a remote control to access bsplayer). If I had a FF button that would just go until I told it to stop, it would be much easier. |
true, this is one great feature missing |
How about making use of an increased "Playback rate"? (rightclick > Playback > Playback rate) Or - in (redefinable) shortcuts - e.g.: Ctrl+F5 - Fast forward (x2) Ctrl+F6 - Fast rewind Shift+F5 - increase playbackrate by 10% (can be used repeatedly) Shift+F6 - decrease playbackrate by 10% (Note default shortcuts and WinLIRC "keys" can be customized/redefined; see rightclick > Options > Preferences > "Key definitions & WinLIRC") |
Plz imagine viewing not a movie but some suveillance "tape", not knowing WHEN something you dont don't exactly know WHAT is was will happen on screen: skimming scenes (NOT skipping frames!) with -say- 16x-speed, stopping, reversing and slomo-ing is your desire! It is not my feasible way to increase by 10%, but I'd definitly would like a "increase speed by 100%"- and a "decrease speed to 50%"-function. I'm aware of how rare my wishes are, but perhaps there is simple remedy I overlooked! Thanks for reading Parkwachter |
