BSPlayer for Linux - is there any chance ?

Is there any possibility for BSPlayer being ported on Linux?
There is lot of users yelling for such a great player under Linux and sure there are also good coders being able to make that job. But because of priprietary code, they have no chance. What a pity that BSPlayer is not an open source... :-(
Can we hope some day?

MPlayer is really the best media player for Linux. There is and GUI, for those who needs it. I don't think that there is a way to MPlayer users start to use another media player on their machines...
