Default custom subtitles for dvd

It would be REALLY nice if BSPlayer could display custom text-based subtitles when playing DVD.

Great work though!

BSPlayer will display text subtitles when playing MPEG-2 streams. Copy all the VOBs to your harddisk into one (several gigabytes long) file and load the subtitles you want. You may need to apply a delay.

(yes, i have never believed in the over-complicated DVD structure, IFOs, etc)

That is too much work to do just to play a DVD. Plus if I do this aspect ratio won't be correct.

I think it would be possible if subtitles were loaded for a specific title.

PS: It can be done with mplayer, but that player is very user unfriendly.

The problem is that a dvd movie is made of several vob's (most of the time) so one subtitle could not work for many files.

Not sure about v2.0, but in v1.36 the aspect ratio is taken from the MPEG-2 stream, not any IFOs on the original DVD. And you can always return to the original unscaled image by choosing Aspect Ratio -> Original.

Or split the subtitles

A couple of years ago I used something named PowerDVD Subtitle (it does still exist a link to get it http://solair.eunet.yu/~milansd/ug.html )

It worked well with PowerDVD 5 with subtitles in MicroDVD format.
