brightness controll failure
 

when I try to control brightness in Video >Color Control it the slide button does not affect the performance

What video rendering mode do you use?
(rightclick >) Options > Preferences > Video > [Video rendering]

actually I have tried (without effect ) at random different options
but You have convinced me (with the link You have offered me) that I have to do some reading first and then ask for help - which itself is a help - thank you for the prompt reply and read you soon
