How to DISABLE automatic search for subtitles in my BSP? Hello, I have BS.Player 2.50 build 1017 (freeware). Every time I start a movie BSP automatically tries to search for subtitles for it. I have no idea how to disable this option. And how to disable all features in this software that try to connect to the internet and send / receive some information? Would appreciate any help. G. |
Unfortunately there has been a very persistent bug re online subtitles (as you can read from this thead.) This was only definitively fixed rather recently. So I would advise you to uninstall the version you now have and download and install the most recent free version. (Note: upon installation I would BS.Player allow to connect to the internet and internally install its preferred codecs/filters. Internally meaning: for use by BS.Player only and not interfering with your system's codecs/filters.) With respect to online subtitles there is a working remedy/work-around (for movies < 6 hours) for not quite up-to-date BS.Player versions, i.e.: (rightclick >) Options > Preferences > Subtitles > [Online subtitles] and there insert a time value of 360 minutes in the box of "Download only if movie is longer than (min)". Other "connecting-to-the-internet"-related settings are (apart from those asked and selected by you at first installation): (rightclick >) Options > Preferences > General [General settings] [v] Check for new version of BS.Player at program startup and (rightclick >) Options > Preferences > Audio [v] CDDB enabled A false impression of connection to the internet may be given if [_] Don't use WinLIRC isn't selected under (rightclick >) Options > Preferences > General [General settings] (Maybe read this: Frequently asked questions - BS.Player wiki) |
