[SOLVED] Capture youtube resolution

I can view 1080p youtube, np, but when i 'save as' , BS player only saves a resolution of 400x244.

Is it a setting issue?

Am i capturing correctly?

My goal is to capture a 1080p youtube.

I have BS player PRO until 2015

TIA

I opened the url (as mentioned in your post) in BS.Player.
Then (while movie played) I used "Save as" and saved the file as an mp4:
"LMFAO - Sexy and I Know It.mp4"
Then I played that file from HD and it's Media info reads:
"1920x1080, Aspect: 16:9 (1920x1080)".
So .... no problems here.
Please verify your settings under
(rightclick >) Options > Preferences > Streaming
Did you select 1080p there (like me)?

Thanks for the reply.

Obvious settings are fine.

I'm using 2.59

I do have 1080p set as the preferred youtube resolution.

There isn't a similar setting under the capture tab.

media info reports 400x224 as the resolution

If it's not meant to be that complicated, i'll downgrade from the beta.

Just downgraded to version 2.58, but still have the same problem.

So it has to be because of my setup.

Only UScreencapture is available in the video capture tab, maybe thats relevant?

All codecs up to date.

You don't need to use capture function. Just "Save as" while the file is playing, like BSPeter sugested in the post above.

So no suggestions as to the problem?

I've uninstalled and re-installed x2.

Something in my setup has to be different if others can get it to work.

Ok, solved it.

Just got to watch the video all the way through before 'saving'.

Maybe it saves directly from the buffer, my internet connection is slower than the video rate.

Anyway - solved.

Another thread with a happy ending then!
