no sound with xvid

I have no sound when playing a xvid movie with BSplayer. Does anyone have a solution?

which xvid codec do you have? if you have the neodivx version, then you have to install another one. ( but keep the neodivx version to encode! )

anyway that' show Isolved the problem!

@rok dj
1) scotty has no clue what he is talking about...
2) xvid is not divx (or anything like neodivx, if such thing exists...)
3) xvid is not an audio codec! so if you have audio problems it is 100% not caused by xvid

i guess your movie has ac3-sound. so plz install this or this!!!

to explain myself.
first I'm just trying to help :: thanks for being so kind

neodivx is a soft to encode film in divx format ( whatever codec you use ) but it's really good with xvid!!
secondly: neodivx ( that's the soft name ) use a modified version of xvid to encode with it. I encode with it and I had to install a "normal" version of xvid to play my films because I would have no sound.

it might not be the same problem but what I said wasn't that dumm!! :(

PS: try neodivx.org it might interest you. :wink:

@bond

no it's fine. :wink:
neodivx being a french soft, I guess that non-french people don't use it that much. but it's worth trying!!
it works well, and it's very good to encode with xvid!!
